I have been painting in the method called intentional creativity for 5 years, ever since the death of my daughter, Amy. Painting helped comfort me and I felt a connection with the Divine. I live in Northern Michigan with my husband, a dog, cat and 5 horses. I find so much peace in nature and love my woodsy surroundings. I teach intentional creativity classes locally and also have an on-line healing program entitled PAINT YOUR BROKEN HEART. I've been painting for years and have studied with various artists. I graduated for Siena Heights University with a BA in Humanities. During my studies at Siena Heights I had many art classes, including art therapy. I am not a certified art therapist but can surely pass along my experience with the benefits of artmaking in my healing journey. I believe the spontaneous creation of art offers a way to memorialize the relationship with the deceased and facilitate continuing bonds. Art making is a restorative and assertive act that produced new insights and understanding for me.
INTENTIONAL CREATIVITY IS ABOUT OFFERING YOUR INTENTION AND THEN BEING WILLING TO ALLOW THE PROCESS OF CREATING TO REVEAL WISDOM, TRUTH AND BEAUTY. IT OPENS A SPACE INTO YOUR SOUL TO DISCOVER SOMETHING THAT WANTS TOO BE EXPRESSED.
